The small family business
A husband-and-wife team that run a small plumbing business with four employees. The wife used to do all the Accounting and payroll herself. Spending many nights working on their own accounts and weekly payroll instead of planning for the work the team had to do.
The books were in a mess.
The result was that the books were a mess. Although they were both good at what they did, and that is running a plumbing business, they weren’t so good at accounting. They had no idea of leave and super accruals for their employees, and they were way behind in Tax office payments. The only time they were in touch with their Accountant was when they handed over the unreconciled accounts for BAS preparation and lodgement. The outcome was always a big shock.
Neglecting family time.
They had two young children that needed their attention. It all became too much. The husband thought about what a friend had said about how he used to be in the same situation but got onto an accounting firm that calls themselves Great Accounting. Now they do all his friends business accounting and payroll tasks. He said that they now know where their business finances are at. Preparation of Financial accounts as well as Company and Individual Directors tax returns. They also get their weekly payroll processing done for them, so the employees are always happy as they can trust the information on the payslips.
And they are not the only ones that are happy
Now there are much less arguments in their house and obviously the kids would be a lot happier too.
