ONLINE TAX PREPARATION PROCEDURE

As well as the tailored Accounting Solutions we provide we have an Online Individual Tax Preparation procedure.  Through this procedure, you are able to submit tax preparation information to us via a secure paperless environment. We then do the rest.

OUR PROCEDURE

  1. Submit your Tax return information via the client portal
  2. Once information is received, we will set up a job in our Job management system to start the work
  3. The work for your tax return is then completed
  4. You sign the Tax Return for lodgment electronically
  5. Invoice will also be issued once Tax return is ready for signing
  6. Once signing and payment is confirmed your Tax return is then lodge

ACCESSING THE CLIENT PORTAL

  • For new Clients or those who have not yet subscribed to the Client Portal, you’ll receive an email invitation to the Great Accounting Client Portal. Please accept the invitation as soon as possible by following the prompts.
  • This will give you access to your own secure Client Portal where you can submit information to contribute towards your tax return.
  • Access the client portal at any time through the CLIENT PORTAL button on the Great Accounting website

SUBMITTING YOUR INFORMATION

  1. Find the ‘Online Forms‘ section on the portal home page and select the yellow box titled ‘Tax return information form
  2. Fill in the form with relevant information to prepare your tax return. Only fill in compulsory fields and any information which is specifically applicable to your tax return such as tax deduction claims you wish to make.
  3. Once completed please click “submit” The form will only submit when all compulsory fields (marked by an asterisk) are filled in correctly.

PAYMENT FOR OUR SERVICES

  • An invoice will also be issued once your Tax return is ready for signing.
  • Our preferred method of payment is direct to our account, and we also have an option for online payment via EZIDEBIT. Click here to pay online.
  • Please note: Our policy with all Tax returns is to lodge once documents are signed and payment is confirmed.

SIGNING YOUR TAX RETURN ELECTRONICALLY

  • The last step is to digitally sign your tax return via Wolters Kluwer, the software we use for signing process.
  • Full details of your return to be lodged to the Australian Taxation Department will be on an Electronic document.
  • Due to security upgrades in our signing process, you have to log into your Client Portal to sign the Electronic document. An email will be sent out to you with the complete signing process and an invoice for our services will be attached on the email.
  • If you need any changes to be made to your tax return you can reject the Electronic document and notify us by email of the changes that need to be done.
  • Once Electronic documents are signed and payment of our invoice is confirmed, we will then proceed with the lodgment of your tax return.
  • Upon lodgment, a completed copy of your tax return will be uploaded to your client portal, and you will receive automatic notification of this.

SECURITY OF INFORMATION

All information is transmitted in a secure encrypted electronic environment. If we need any clarification of the information on the form we will email you. Please ensure you have kept verification and documentation of all Tax return claims so they can be proved to the Australian Taxation Office if requested by the Taxation Office to do so.
